I’m a recovering southerner.  I still say words like “light” or “night” with a bit of a twang, but I’m overcoming it.  I was born into an Assembly of God family.  I grew up learning bits and pieces of the Bible, just enough to make me feel condemned.  I had a real salvation experience (that means I don’t consider the many times I asked Jesus into my heart as a kid to be salvific prayers) in June of 2004.  It’s not one that is able to be communicated over a few typed lines.  (I have actually written a post on it here)

I became Calvinist shortly after my true salvation, attending Christ Church Evangelical Presbyterian Church where I was ushered into grace.  I graduated Southern Wesleyan University as the only Calvinist in the Religion Division.  I have a BA in Religion with an emphasis in the Bible, which means that I can now sell used cars.

I am currently pursuing an M.Div (Master of Divinity) at Erskine Theological Seminary in the town of Due West, SC.  I am the chair of the Adult Growth Leadership Team at Christ Church EPC.  I’m waiting for Him to give definite plans for after seminary; but thus far, He has given me the plans immediately before I am to begin to walk in them.  I enjoy it that way.  I’ve learned never to worry.

I married a wonderful woman, Sarah (formerly Manly) Turner, on January 12, 2008.

I blog to give me some type of creative outlet.  I’m not a very creative person and I hate that.  Perhaps it will be interesting, I cynically doubt it shall.
